Infrared Saunas: One to Three Person, Compared

An infrared sauna warms you rather than the air around you. Air temperatures stay lower than in a traditional sauna, and four of the six cabins here plug into a household outlet rather than needing an electrician.

6 products Prices and specifications as listed October 15, 2026 Shipping included, contiguous U.S.

A far-infrared cabin uses heating panels instead of a stove and stones. The practical consequence is electrical: the AV2, AV2 Hybrid, Lumin 1 and Lumin 2 plug into a household outlet, which removes the largest installation cost. The AV2 Hybrid adds a traditional high-heat mode to the same two-person cabin.

How to choose

Start with who will use it

The Lumin 1 is a solo cabin. The AV2, AV2 Hybrid and Lumin 2 seat two. The AV3 and Lumin 3 seat three; the AV3 is the most spacious infrared cabin in the Avantikül line at 71 inches wide.

Check the electrical before the finishes

The AV2, AV2 Hybrid, Lumin 1 and Lumin 2 plug into a standard household outlet. The AV3 needs a dedicated 220V / 20A circuit and the Lumin 3 is listed at 240V / 20A, so both need a licensed electrician before delivery. Budget that before you order.

Measure height as well as floor space

These cabins stand 75 to 82 inches tall. Confirm the ceiling, especially in a basement, and the path from the door to the room.

Features that change the session

The AV2 has a backlit Himalayan salt wall, chromotherapy lighting, Bluetooth audio and WiFi control. The AV3 adds the third seat with the same carbon-fiber heating, lighting, audio and WiFi. The AV2 Hybrid switches between far-infrared and a traditional high-heat mode, with chromotherapy lighting and Bluetooth audio. The Lumin 2 and 3 have touchscreen controls, an oxygen ionizer, built-in speakers and USB/FM radio.

Common questions

What is the difference between an infrared and a traditional sauna?
A traditional sauna heats the air with a stove and stones, and water on the stones makes steam. An infrared cabin uses heating panels that warm you directly at lower air temperatures, with no stones or steam.
Do infrared saunas need a dedicated circuit?
It depends on the model. The AV2, AV2 Hybrid, Lumin 1 and Lumin 2 plug into standard household outlets. The AV3 needs a dedicated 220V / 20A circuit and the Lumin 3 is listed at 240V / 20A; both need a licensed electrician.
How much space does a home infrared sauna need?
Footprints run from 38 × 38 inches for the one-person Lumin 1 to 71 × 47.5 inches for the three-person AV3, and heights from 75 to 82 inches.
Are these infrared saunas for indoor use?
Yes. All six are listed for indoor placement. For an outdoor sauna, see the traditional, barrel and cabin ranges.
What warranty do the infrared saunas carry?
The AV2 and AV3 carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty on parts, and the Lumin cabins a one-year manufacturer warranty. See the Warranty Policy for full terms.
